Two acoustic bands met to create music together – the German band QUADRO NUEVO and the French/Polish duet MARION & SOBO – resulting in a truly illustrious summit of world music! Their first joint album “Belle Histoire” comes out on September 18th worldwide – CD, Vinyl, and online. MARION & SOBO BAND’s latest album “Gomera” is a tribute to their favorite Canary Island, where they composed most of the songs of the album (their swing tune “Epina Swing”, or the French Rumba “Playa de Vueltas”). The musicians on guitars, vocals, double bass and violin also play contemporary interpretations of the almost 100 year old swing tune “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, the Cuban bolero “Veinte Anos”, the French original version for “I wish you love” by Charles Trenet, with a gypsy jazz twist to them, much enthusiasm & masterful playing.
